Industrial developer Logistics Capital Partners (LCP) is close to securing backing from a North American investment house that will give it the firepower to embark on a €1.5billion development push in the next four years.

LCP was set up two and a half years ago by former head of CBRE’s European industrial and logistics investment team James Markby, ex-Goodman director Kristof Verstraeten and ex-Amazon executive Andrea Benvenuti.

The firm is, according to Property Week, thrashing out the final details of the deal with the undisclosed institutional investor in a bid to take on the likes of Prologis and SEGRO in Europe.

The capital injection will see LCP immediately set about bringing forward schemes in France, Italy and Spain with a GDV of €400million.

LCP will create a core logistics fund in the first quarter of 2018 in which the built assets will sit.
