Greek consumer price index (CPI) remained unchanged at 1.0 percent year-on-year in July, compared with June, data from the country’s statistics agency ELSTAT showed on Wednesday.

The annual EU-harmonized inflation rate was unchanged at 0.9 percent in July compared with June. The CPI in July 2017 compared with June 2017, decreased by 1.7 percent, while in July 2016, the monthly rate of change was -1.6 percent.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, attributed this development to the changes in goods and services, and specifically in a decrease of 24.9 pct in clothing and footwear, due to the period of summer sales, of 0.2 pct in housing, a 1.3 pct in household equipment and a 0.2 pct in Hotels-Cafés-Restaurants (due to a drop, mainly, in the prices of hotels-motels-inns).

It was also due to an increase of 0.1 pct in food and non-alcoholic beverages, a 0.4 pct in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and a 0.1 pct in health.
