The National Archaeological Museum of Athens will offer a free program each for adults and children on Friday, September 22, to mark the European Heritage Days (EHD), an annual EU initiative.

For adults, the museum will offer a two-hour guided tour on "Cities/Pol(e)is", the 2017 EHD theme, starting at 10:00 a.m. The archaeologists serving as guides will present aspects of the public and private life of citizens of ancient Athens, including data on integration, rejection and social cohesion.

The maximum number of participants is 25 people, and the passes to the event will be made available after 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event. For students in the 4th through 6th grade, the program "Travelling in 5th-century Athens" will offer a glimpse into the daily life of Athenians, with an emphasis on the processes of Athenian democracy.

Children will be able to attend an arts workshop as well. The two-hour program also starts at 10:00 a.m.
