Nireus records 6,9% increase in 1H2017 sales

Nireus Aquaculture on Tuesday said sales totaled 102 million euros in the first half of 2017 from 95.4 million in the same period last year, for an increase of 6.9 pct. In an announcement, the company said sales of its aquaculture sector grew 7.6 pct to 91.7 pct of total sales.


Exports, accounting for 80 pct of sales, totaled 81.6 million euros in the January-June period, up 5.7 pct compared with 2016.

Pre-tax results showed a loss of 1.9 million euros in the first half from losses of 7.6 million euros in the same period last year, an improvement of 75 pct.

After tax results showed a loss of 2.6 million euros from a loss of 6.6 million euros in 2016, an increase of 60 pct.

Operating cash flow totaled 12.6 million euros, from 3.1 million in 2016, while fixed-capital investments rose to 4.9 million euros from 2.3 million last year. Net bank debt was 165.2 million euros at the end of June, down from 171.6 million in December 31, 2016.
