Greece will finance a new waste management plant in Ilia, the western Peloponnese, with 17 million euros, said Alternate Economy and Development Minister Alexis Charitsis and Alternate Environment Minister Sokratis Famellos on Wednesday.

The new plant will be able to manage up to 80,000 tons of waste per year, the ministers said. The total cost of the project reaches 33 million euros and will be built via a private public partnership.

The investor will be required to construct and run the plant for 25 years.
