An amendment submitted to the Parliament has introduced a new repayment program for ENFIA, which will increase the instalments from 10 to 12. Additionally, property owners in areas declared in a state of emergency due to earthquake, fire, or flood will be exempted from the tax.
Taxpayers have until March 8, 2024, to make corrections to E9 before the AADE issues the settlement statement.
Starting next year, ENFIA payments will begin in March, and the bill will be sent to owners in February. This will become a permanent model.
The decision was made by the government staff to make it easier for households to meet their increased obligations.
To give an example, if a property owner paid a total of 500 euros in ENFIA with the old scheme of 10 instalments, they would have paid 50 euros per month. Under the new scheme, with 11 instalments, they will pay 45.45 euros per month this year. The instalment will drop to 41.66 euros per month from 2025 onwards.
