Greek jobless rate drops to 8.6% in October 2025

Key findings include,

  • Unemployment Rate: The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in October 2025 stood at 8.6%, down from 9.7% in October 2024 and slightly lower than the upwardly revised 8.7% in September 2025.
  • Employment: The number of employed persons reached 4,347,352, representing an increase of 44,904 persons (1.0%) compared to October 2024 and an increase of 20,586 persons (0.5%) compared with September 2025.

  • Unemployment: The number of unemployed persons totaled 411,369, decreasing by 50,326 persons (-10.9%) compared with October 2024 and slightly increasing by 1,000 persons (0.2%) compared with September 2025.

  • Persons Outside the Labour Force: The number of persons under 75 who are neither working nor seeking employment amounted to 2,982,942, a decrease of 22,830 persons (-0.8%) from October 2024 and a reduction of 24,180 persons (-0.8%) compared with September 2025.

These figures reflect continued improvements in employment and a downward trend in unemployment over the past year.
