Romanian construction activity up 8% in November 2021

The new figures can be observed as a sign of a recovery from a consistent downward shift that was persisting from May to September of 2021.

All three market segments have recorded increases in November relative to October – the non-residential and civil engineering segments by 9%-10% and the residential segment by 5%.

The construction index in gross terms changed upwards by 3.9% relative a year ago.

Over the previous five months, the seasonally-adjusted index has plunged by nearly 20%, prompting moderate concerns in regard to the resilience of the sector.
