The investment plan of Biscuit and Food Products Industry E.J. Papadopoulos S.A. for the expansion of production capacity at its Volos manufacturing facility has been submitted to public consultation, running from today until 1 June. The project is being examined within the framework of its inclusion under the provisions of the Strategic Investments law.

The company, through its application to Enterprise Greece S.A., requests the inclusion of its investment project entitled “Expansion of Production Capacity of Biscuit and Food Products Industry E.J. Papadopoulos S.A.” under the provisions of Law 4864/2021 on Strategic Investments.

The investment concerns the expansion of the company’s existing production facility in the community of Diminio, within the First Industrial Area (A’ VI.PE.) of Volos, in the Regional Unit of Magnesia. The objective of the project is to enhance overall production capacity, upgrade product quality, further automate the production process, and strengthen the company’s competitiveness in international markets.

The company’s factory in Volos has been operating since 1980 and, according to the plan, will be expanded with new production and storage facilities within the existing privately owned site, in order to meet increased demand and address the limitations of the current building infrastructure.

The total investment budget amounts to €59.59 million, while the project foresees the creation of at least 30 new jobs.

The company is requesting the project’s classification as an “Outstanding Strategic Investment of Major Significance,” while also seeking the relevant incentives provided under the applicable legal framework, including tax incentives, fast-track licensing procedures, and investment subsidies for eligible expenses.
