New digital platform centralizes property information

The long-awaited Unified Property Hub was presented at the recent Cabinet meeting.

The bill establishing the Unified Property Hub introduces a new integrated digital platform through which all key information relating to a property will be consolidated, regardless of the authority or organization currently maintaining such data.

The central reference point of the platform will be the National Cadastre Code Number (KAEK), which will serve as the link connecting the various property-related records. It should be noted that property owners will be required to associate the unique twelve-digit National Cadastre Code Number (KAEK), assigned to a property during the cadastral registration process, with the Property Identity Number (ATAK)—the unique eleven-digit code assigned by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to every property declared in the E9 tax form through the Property Ownership and Management Registry (MIDA).

Through the new Hub, these data sets will be digitally interconnected via interoperability among various public bodies, including the Hellenic Cadastre, urban planning authorities, municipalities, AADE, HEDNO (DEDDIE), and the forestry maps system. All relevant information will be displayed within a single, unified environment. This approach is expected to significantly reduce bureaucracy, minimize delays, and facilitate transactions for citizens, notaries, engineers, and lawyers. At the same time, the State will gain a clearer and more reliable overview of both public and private real estate assets, contributing to improved service delivery and enhanced transparency.

The Government estimates that the new platform will help reduce administrative burdens, accelerate case processing, and improve the quality of data used in real estate transactions. In parallel, it aims to strengthen transparency and security in procedures related to the management of real property.

The bill also provides that access to the full set of consolidated information will be granted exclusively to the property owner, who will be able to monitor the status of their real estate holdings through a single digital environment containing up-to-date information.

The bill on the Unified Property Hub was presented to the Cabinet by the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitrios Papastergiou, and the Deputy Minister, Mr. Christos Dermentzopoulos.
