The new Passenger Terminal at the Port of Gaios in Paxi has commenced operations, a project implemented by the Corfu Port Authority S.A. (OLKE) with the aim of upgrading the island’s port infrastructure and improving services for passengers and visitors.

The new terminal, with a total surface area of 320 square metres and a budget of €911,000, constitutes a modern multifunctional facility designed to serve the needs of passenger ferry services, small-scale cruise operations, as well as the future operation of the seaplane network, by leveraging the already licensed Paxi seaplane airport.

The project was financed through the European programmes THEMIS and SWAN, while the Port Authority of Corfu (OLKE) contributed approximately €300,000 in own funds. This, as highlighted by the Authority, confirms its strategic commitment to the continuous modernization of port infrastructure and the enhancement of island connectivity.

According to the Port Authority, the new Passenger Terminal is expected to significantly improve the quality of services provided, enhance transport safety, and create the conditions for further development of ferry services, maritime tourism, and transport links in Paxi.
