Alma Property Partners and Midstar acquire five-hotel portfolio in Denmark

The portfolio includes Motel One Copenhagen, Scandic Sluseholmen, Scandic Hvidovre, Scandic Glostrup and Scandic Kolding. Four properties are located in the greater Copenhagen area, while the fifth is situated in the city of Kolding. The hotels have a combined gross lettable area of approximately 46,000 sq m.

All five properties are fully leased to the Scandic and Motel One hotel groups under long-term lease agreements, serving both leisure and business travellers.

Investment to Enhance Hotel Assets

Alma and Midstar plan to work closely with the hotel operators to further develop the properties through targeted investments.

The transaction is being undertaken through Alma IV, the fourth fund in Alma Property Partners’ diversified value-add real estate investment series. Midstar is participating as a co-investor and will take an active role in managing the portfolio.

Hüseyin Meric, Partner at Alma Property Partners, highlighted the attractive investment opportunities offered by the Danish hotel market. He also emphasised the portfolio’s strong presence in Copenhagen and the benefits of partnering with established hotel operators such as Scandic and Motel One.

Peter Tengström, Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Midstar, said the five hotels align with the company’s investment and asset management strategy. He noted that active management and close cooperation with the hotel groups could support property improvements, strengthen the hotels’ competitive positioning and enhance the guest experience.

Continued Investment in the Hospitality Sector

Alma and Midstar intend to pursue further investments in the hotel sector, combining Alma’s Scandinavian real estate platform with Midstar’s specialist hospitality expertise.

The transaction was supported by Bruun & Hjejle, Nordic Hotel Consulting, PwC and Niras, which provided legal, advisory and other professional services.
