The investment concerns the development of a modern tourist complex with a capacity of 243 beds on a plot of 27,044.05 sq.m., located outside the city plan and settlement boundaries, in close proximity to Georgioupolis–Kavros beach. The project has completed the required environmental permitting procedures and has already obtained preliminary approval of the building permit from the Municipality of Chania (ref. no. 1664577/11-11-2025).
According to the Environmental Impact Assessment, the new facility will be classified as a primary hotel accommodation unit and will operate on a seasonal basis, providing hospitality and food and beverage services from April to October each year.
The hotel complex will consist of seven building units and a central building, comprising a total of 150 rooms and 243 beds. The total built-up area will amount to 5,307.95 sq.m., while the coverage will reach 3,917.56 sq.m.
The facilities will include central swimming pools, food and beverage outlets, bars, and extensive green areas, with an emphasis on the harmonious integration of the complex into the natural landscape of the area.
Construction is expected to last approximately 27 months, while during its operational phase the hotel is projected to employ around 100 workers, contributing to local employment and tourism activity in the region.
Particular emphasis is placed on environmental considerations, with the study foreseeing measures for the rational management of water resources and wastewater, as well as the protection of the natural environment. The site is located near the Georgioupolis wetland, making the implementation of strict environmental standards particularly critical.
The investment is being developed by I. TSILEDAKIS S.A., which is further strengthening its presence in the tourism sector of Crete. The Tsiledakis family’s hotel portfolio is mainly focused on the Georgioupolis area through the Corissia Hotels & Resorts group, which includes Corissia Beach, Corissia Princess, and the adults-only Corissia Harmony.
At the same time, the company is proceeding with the development of the Imperial Flair Chania Old Town in the city of Chania, which is expected to operate under the international Curio Collection by Hilton brand, further expanding its investment activity in the hospitality sector.
