Flyover: section of Thessaloniki’s Ring Road to close tonight for construction works

  • RE+D Magazine

Traffic restrictions will come into effect tonight on the Thessaloniki Inner Ring Road due to construction works on the Flyover project, according to an announcement by the Thessaloniki Traffic Police Directorate.

Specifically, between 23:00 and 05:00 the following morning, traffic will be suspended on the Eastern Inner Ring Road in the eastbound direction, between the K5 (Papageorgiou) and K6 (Meteora) interchanges.

In particular, all traffic on the Thessaloniki Inner Ring Road in the eastbound direction (for vehicles approaching from the TITAN area) will be fully halted at the exit ramp to Efkarpia (Municipal Stadium).

All vehicles will be diverted via the exit towards Efkarpia and, with the aid of appropriate directional signage, rerouted through the city centre (indicatively via Stratou Avenue).

Vehicles travelling on the main carriageway of the Western Inner Ring Road in the eastbound direction will be required to exit at the Sklavenitis (Efkarpia) interchange and proceed via Giannis Ritsos Street and Theseos Street to Stratou Avenue.

The Traffic Police also note that access to the Thessaloniki Inner Ring Road in the eastbound direction via the entry ramp located near the hospitals will be closed to all vehicles.
