The initiative is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, and the Municipality of Paros.
Within the framework of HELMEPA’s programme, students from schools in Paros will be invited to actively participate in organised beach clean-ups at Zoodochos Pigi, Logaras, and Piperi beaches, contributing to the protection of the marine ecosystem. At the same time, an interactive ocean literacy presentation will be delivered to foster environmental awareness and strengthen young people’s connection with the sea from an early age for primary school students. For secondary school students, an additional session on career orientation will follow, focusing on emerging opportunities and skills within the Blue Economy.
The activities will conclude with a large-scale open beach clean-up at Piperi beach, under the guidance of HELMEPA, with the participation of students, executives from Avant Mar and Grivalia Hospitality, as well as SAIL-E. The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration in protecting the natural environment.
This series of actions forms part of a broader strategic framework adopted by both Avant Mar and Grivalia Hospitality, aimed at creating a positive environmental and social impact by investing in knowledge, collaboration, and the sustainable development of local communities.
