Hellenic Cables, the cable business of Cenergy Holdings, has been awarded a contract by DEME to supply inter-array cables for the BC-Wind offshore wind farm under development in Poland.

The BC-Wind project is being developed by Ocean Winds—a 50/50 joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE—and is located approximately 23 kilometers off the Polish coast in the Baltic Sea. The offshore wind farm will have an installed capacity of up to 390 MW, consisting of 26 wind turbines, and is expected to supply clean electricity to around 500,000 households annually once operational.

Under the terms of the contract, Hellenic Cables will be responsible for the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supply of approximately 70 kilometers of 66kV inter-array submarine cables, including spares, along with all associated accessories. Production will take place at the company’s submarine cable factory in Corinth, with completion anticipated by the end of 2027.

This award follows a previous contract for export cables for the same project, which Hellenic Cables signed with Ocean Winds in a joint venture with DEME, further strengthening the partnership among the involved parties.

Philip Scheers, General Manager of Cables at DEME, highlighted that both companies have demonstrated effective collaboration across multiple offshore wind projects and expressed confidence in the safe and successful execution of BC-Wind. Kostas Savvakis, Managing Director of Hellenic Cables, emphasized that the project reinforces the company’s role as a trusted partner in European offshore wind projects, supporting the clean energy transition in the Baltic region.

Pete Geddes, Project Director of BC-Wind at Ocean Winds, noted that the selection of Hellenic Cables for the full scope of inter-array cables represents a key milestone as the project enters the construction phase, stressing that the company’s expertise and collaboration with DEME will contribute to the reliable and timely delivery of the offshore wind farm.

The contract underscores the robust presence of the Greek cable industry in the European offshore wind market, at a time of accelerating investment in renewable energy.
