Specifically, under these decisions, which fall within the framework of nationwide initiatives for the energy upgrading of public buildings, the following actions are being implemented:
- Energy upgrade and renovation of the iconic Wix Mansion in the Municipality of Kavala (total area: 1,268 m²). The intervention includes thermal insulation works, modernization of electromechanical heating, cooling, and artificial lighting systems with advanced technologies, and the installation of energy management systems. Additionally, interior modifications will ensure compliance with modern standards, support sustainable mobility, and enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities. Maintenance of decorative elements and improvements to the surrounding environment are also planned. The building’s energy classification will be upgraded from category H to category B. The total public expenditure amounts to €2,685,348.64.
- Energy interventions at the protected Loggos Tourpalis building complex, the former spinning mill considered the first industrial facility in Naousa and in Macedonia. The measures include window replacement, energy upgrade of the tiled roof without altering the building’s form, and modernization of electromechanical systems (installation of VRF Inverter systems, a heat-recovery ventilation system, replacement of existing lighting fixtures, implementation of energy consumption monitoring systems, and installation of a BMS system). The building’s energy rating will improve from category H to category B+. Public expenditure for this intervention is €2,099,660.80.
- Energy upgrade of the Cultural Activities Building in the Municipality of Kalamaria. The intervention includes added insulation, replacement of windows and glass panels with certified high-efficiency units, energy upgrades to electromechanical systems, improvements to natural and artificial lighting systems, and installation of energy management systems. The building’s energy classification will be upgraded from category D to category B+. Public expenditure for this project amounts to €1,000,000.
