The upward trend is expected to continue in the coming years as a series of major projects (PPPs, concession contracts, and infrastructure built as public works) will be launched, with the goal of completion by 2025.

It is noteworthy that only the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport plans to immediately announce projects worth approximately 2.5 billion, while in 3.5 years projects worth more than 10 billion have been auctioned.

Investments in housing sector have also been increasing and gained a remarkable share in construction activity. Employment in constructions referring to housing projects increased to 1.3%, in Greece during 2021 after a drop that was recorded in the period 2010-2021.

During that decade employment in the sector plunged 45%, the second largest drop among the 21 member states. Screen Shot 2023-02-08 at 08.54.02.png
