Macquire’s subsidiary invests €80million for a PV park development in Norhtern Greece

  • RE+D Magazine

The project – aka Project Delfini – is the first solar project in Greece with a private PPA, providing stable revenue without subsidy for the asset and offering end consumers direct access to cheaper, clean energy.

The investment is part of a larger plan that concerns the development of photovoltaic, wind farms and energy storage of 3 gigawatts in Greece. The energy from the photovoltaic will be purchased at a pre-agreed price by the Swiss AXPO, while the construction of the park, which is expected to be completed in a year, was undertaken by the American AMERESCO and the Greek SUNEL.

It is noted that a few months ago Macquarie acquired 49% of HEDNO while in a joint venture with the Kopelouzou group it has expressed interest in the tender for the new Attica Road concession contract.
