The study covers both requests submitted by school principals and maintenance issues identified during on-site inspections carried out by the municipality’s Technical Services Department.
The project comprises two separate components:
- Works aimed at improving safety, hygiene, thermal comfort, and the energy efficiency of all school buildings across the municipality. The project was prepared by the Municipality’s Directorate of Technical Services and Environment and has a budget of €1.4 million.
- The energy upgrade of the historic 1st Primary School, based on a final design prepared by the Management Organisation Unit of Development Programmes (MOU), with a budget of €310,000.
According to the municipal administration, following its initiatives and interventions, the Ministry of the Interior has issued the relevant funding call, enabling the project to proceed.
The municipality followed a similar approach for the Rosa Imvrioti Special Experimental School, successfully securing funding for that project as well. Construction works are currently progressing, with completion scheduled in time for the start of the new school year.
