The group’s new business plan, presented at its first major Investor Day, sets ambitious targets for 2029, centred on revenue growth, store network expansion and a restructuring of its operating model.
According to management forecasts, Fourlis’ revenue is expected to reach €785–800 million in 2029, up from €645 million in 2026, representing a compound annual growth rate of 6.5%–7.5%. Meanwhile, operating profit (EBIT) is projected to increase to €40–45 million, compared with €15–17 million in 2026, while reported EBITDA is expected to reach €108–113 million, up from €75–77 million.
Particular emphasis is being placed on improving operating profitability, with the EBIT margin forecast to rise to 5.1%–5.6% in 2029, from 2.3%–2.6% in 2026. The targets will be supported by both growth in existing operations and network expansion. Existing activities are expected to generate approximately €95 million in additional sales, while new stores are projected to contribute a further €75 million.
Store network expansion with a focus on sporting goods
Under the plan, the group’s store network is expected to expand from 166 locations in 2025 to 210 by the end of 2029. Most of the expansion is expected to come from the sporting goods segment, a key pillar of the group’s growth strategy.
At the same time, Fourlis is prioritising debt reduction and operating cost containment, aiming to strengthen its financial position and improve its capacity to generate profits and cash flow.
Fourlis Chairman Vassilis Fourlis stressed that the transformation goes beyond organisational restructuring, encompassing the group’s overall philosophy and corporate culture. The objective, he noted, is to drive sales more effectively, enhance the customer experience and achieve higher profitability.
Implementation of the new operating model began in early 2026, with management seeking to improve customer service and financial performance. According to Fourlis, the initiative has the support of the Board of Directors and the group’s approximately 5,000 employees.
Strategic partnerships and Trade Estates
Reflecting on the company’s history, which marked its 75th anniversary in 2025, Fourlis highlighted the group’s ability to adapt to crises and changing market conditions.
He also referred to the two strategic partnerships developed over the past three to four years in the sporting goods and wellness sectors, as well as the role of Trade Estates. The listed real estate investment company is an important component of the Fourlis portfolio, both because of its strategic significance and its contribution to cash flow.
The focus in the coming period will be on executing the business plan and meeting the financial targets set for 2029. Improving efficiency, strengthening profit margins and pursuing disciplined network expansion will be key to the group’s long-term growth and the creation of shareholder value.
