Nikolas G. Haritakis, Ph.D., is an economist in the field of Industrial Organization. His work focuses on exploring corporate strategic decision-making in economics and finance.

Prior to his retirement in 2016, Dr. Haritakis held the position of Professor in the Economics Department at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Additionally, Dr. Haritakis served as a General Manager at the New Economy Development Fund (TANEO S.A.), a Fund of Funds under the supervision of Deutsche Bank with an equity capital of 300 m. Euros. During his tenure, the company achieved a capital increase of 33% IRR. A noteworthy accomplishment considering the challenging economic conditions during this period, (2012-2014).

Throughout his career, Dr. Haritakis has held various significant roles, including serving as CEO of the National Tourist Real Estate Company. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing a substantial real assets portfolio valued at 1.5 billion Euros.

Dr. Haritakis played a pivotal role as Secretary General of the Ministry of Development in the initial stages of implementing privatization efforts in Greece (1990 – 1993). Dr. Haritakis’ scholarly work extends to numerous publications, including articles in foreign economic journals. He has also authored a book about Industrial Organization
