Cadastral records published for areas in Crete and Lesvos

  • RE+D Magazine

From today, Monday 25 May 2026, the process of posting cadastral tables and diagrams begins in areas of Crete and the Northern Aegean, with the Hellenic Cadastre calling on property owners to promptly review the details of their assets in order to avoid potential future administrative or legal complications.

The new procedure is carried out exclusively digitally, without requiring citizens to be physically present at the Cadastre Offices. Property owners, after updating their contact details on the Cadastre’s online platform, may proceed to review and confirm the registrations relating to their real estate assets.

Citizens are asked to examine two key elements: first, the description and legal characteristics of the property as recorded in the Cadastral Table, and second, the boundaries of land parcels as shown in the Cadastral Diagram.

If the information is correct, no further action is required. In the event that discrepancies or errors are identified, owners have the right to submit an application for correction within a two-month period from the commencement of the Posting phase, either digitally via the Cadastre platform or at the competent Cadastre Office by appointment.

The same timeframe applies to residents of Greece and abroad, as well as to the Greek State, while for applications correcting obvious errors, the deadline is set for 27 July 2026.

In parallel, from the date of commencement of the Posting phase, the provisions of Article 5 of Law 2308/1995 come into effect, affecting procedures related to notarial acts, court cases, and registrations in the Land Registry.

The process concerns areas within the Regional Units of Heraklion and Chania in Crete, as well as areas within the Regional Units of Lesvos and Lemnos in the Northern Aegean.

In Heraklion, the Posting covers areas within the municipalities of Heraklion, Malevizi, and Hersonissos, while in Chania it concerns the Municipality of Chania as well as the municipalities of Apokoronas, Kantanos–Selino, Kissamos, Platanias, and Sfakia.

The development is of particular importance for thousands of property owners, as timely review and correction of potential errors can reduce future delays and financial burdens that often accompany cadastral discrepancies.
