AVAX wins contract for large-scale solar project in Romania

  • RE+D Magazine

AVAX Group has signed a new contract with PPC Renewables with a total budget of €100.2 million for the design, construction, and operation of a 275.5 MW photovoltaic power plant in Romania.

The project covers the engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the solar power plant, which will be developed in a county in western Romania.

The scope of the agreement also includes all necessary works for connecting the photovoltaic facility to the 33/33/400 kV Central Transformer Substation through underground 33 kV voltage cables.

Fourth AVAX–PPC Renewables Partnership

The new agreement marks the fourth consecutive contract between AVAX and PPC Renewables, further confirming the Group’s strengthened presence in the renewable energy infrastructure sector and, in particular, in the delivery of large-scale solar projects in Greece and abroad.

At the same time, another major project is currently under construction for the same client in Greece. This involves a 525 MW solar park in Kozani, with a total budget of €173 million, for which the relevant contract was signed in April.

The new Romanian contract further strengthens AVAX’s energy projects backlog and expands the Group’s footprint in the renewable energy market, at a time when investments in large-scale photovoltaic projects and electricity interconnection infrastructure are playing a central role in the energy transition of Southeast Europe.
