The progress of the investment was presented during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis to the Ellinikon construction site, where LAMDA Developmentās management briefed officials on the next milestones of the largest urban redevelopment project in the country.
According to LAMDA Development CEO Odysseas Athanasiou, the project has now entered the final twelve months of its first phase, with the phased delivery of The Ellinikon Sports Park scheduled to begin in July 2026. The first facilities to become operational include the track and field stadium, the throwing areas, as well as football and tennis courts, which will be accessible both to sports clubs and the general public.

In parallel, a significant development is the agreement for the relocation of the Hellenic Gymnastics Federation to Hangar B within the Ellinikon site, where new modern sports facilities will be developed. As announced by Mr. Hatzidakis, until the completion of the worksāestimated to take approximately 15 monthsāathletes will be temporarily hosted at the facilities of the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA) and the Tae Kwon Do venue.
Project entering operational development phase
The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the investment is now transitioning from the construction phase to an operational development phase, noting that from early 2027 the first homeowners are expected to move into the new residential developments. He also stated that discussions between the government, LAMDA Development, the Region of Attica, and SEGAS are at an advanced stage to reach a final resolution regarding the track and field facilities.
On the residential development front, works are progressing in the Little Athens neighborhood, which is being developed next to the Metropolitan Park and the Athens Riviera. Among the first projects expected to be completed is the Promenade Heights complex, which includes 79 residences across nine buildings and is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027.
The gradual activation of sports facilities, progress in residential developments, and the resolution of pending issues with sports authorities mark the transition of the Ellinikon project into a new phase. In this stage, the development is expected to begin generating a tangible economic and social impact, as the first infrastructure becomes operational and conditions are created for the settlement of initial residents and the emergence of a new urban hub in Attica
