The project has a rated power capacity of 49.9 MW and an energy storage capacity of 134.16 MWh, making it one of the first battery energy storage facilities to be developed in Greece. It has been connected to the grid since July 2026 and contributes to the more efficient utilisation of generated electricity, enhancing the flexibility and reliability of the power system.
The development of energy storage systems is a critical factor in enabling the further integration of renewable energy sources, as it allows available electricity to be stored and delivered during periods when demand or grid conditions make it more necessary.
