Approved computational tool for building energy performance and classification

A “multi-tool” for engineers has been developed within the framework of the energy performance calculation and building energy certification platform “IsZEB Certify – EPC.” The software has been developed by IsZEB, a cluster whose principal founding partner is the National Centre for Research and Technological Development, in collaboration with 16 additional organizations and companies.

The platform, which utilizes the calculation engine of the TEE-KENAK software, has been positively evaluated and approved as a suitable computational tool for conducting the relevant assessments, following a recent decision by the competent ministry.

“This important recognition was granted by the General Directorate of the Body of Inspectors and Auditors of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, confirming the compliance of the computational tool with the applicable institutional and technical framework,” as noted in a statement issued today by the National Centre for Research and Technological Development.

At the same time, IsZEB Certify integrates—at no additional cost—the calculation of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) for buildings. This is a European methodology expected to play a decisive role in the coming years in the overall assessment of buildings in Greece, within the context of the green and digital transition.

Furthermore, the platform enables the evaluation of buildings in accordance with the IsZEB Standard and their certification by specialized engineers.

Certification under the IsZEB Standard aims to enhance the intelligence, energy efficiency, and sustainability of buildings throughout their lifecycle, thereby increasing their overall value and competitiveness.

“As a Digital Innovation Hub, IsZEB actively contributes to shaping a sustainable, efficient, and technologically advanced building stock,” the statement concludes.
