PPP for the 13 Civil Protection Centers gathers a crowd

Interest in the tender for the construction and operation of 13 regional business centers of civil protection (PEKEPP), runs by "Building Infrastructure SA", was intense.

The project covers a period of up to 27 years, 2 years of which are estimated as the construction period.

 According to information on the project "Study, financing, construction and technical management of 13 regional civil protection operational centers (PEKEPP) through PPPs" Aktor Concessions, GEKTERNA, Mytilineos, AVAX and Intrakat all expressed interest .


This project covers a period of up to 27 years, of which 2 years are estimated to refer to the construction period and the remaining 25 years  to the operating period.

In the first phase, six (6) PEKEPPs will be implemented, which will be constructed and will operate in an equal number of Regions of the country, forming Group B, which includes the Regions of Central Greece, Attica, Peloponnese, Western Greece, Crete  and the South Aegean.
With another assignment process, Centers will be built in the remaining 7 Regions of the country, i.e. the regions of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Central Macedonia, Western Macedonia, Thessaly, Epirus, North Aegean and the Ionian Islands.

The role of the Operational Centers will be focused on the management of all the events that fall under the responsibilities of the Civil Protection and which are evolving in the 13 Regions of the country. They will be strategic points of reception and processing of all relevant information as well as decision-making centers and coordination of all stakeholders for the effective management and response of each event.

In addition, the Regional Operational Centers will be central points of information and interaction of citizens with the institution and functions of the Civil Protection, while they will permanently house its administrative functions.
