ELLAKTOR Group has announced that is officially a member of ACFE
Corporate Alliance, an alliance of the world’s largest companies in the fight against fraud.
The relevant announcement was made in the framework of the Conference organised by the AntiFraud Institute (ACFE Greece), entitled " Money Laundering and Tax Fraud", on the occasion of celebrating International Fraud Awareness Week (November 14 - 20).
Through its participation in the ACFE Corporate Alliance, ELLAKTOR Group is part of a wide
network of affiliated members who recognise the value of professional certification as a CFE
(Certified Fraud Examiner), as well as the importance of encouraging their staff with regard
to training and obtaining the necessary tools to detect, deter, and prevent fraud.
It should be pointed out that according to related research conducted by ACFE, companies and organisations whose staff hold CFE certification face 59% fewer losses due to fraud while at the same time detecting fraud 40% earlier than companies and organisations that lack CFE.
The ultimate goal of joining this alliance is to support the Group in matters of information,
training, detection, prevention, and fighting fraud, which constitutes one of its key strategic
pillars and priorities in terms of Corporate Compliance, the company said in its press release.
The ACFE is based in Austin, Texas and has been operating for over 30 years. It is recognised as the largest agency for education, prevention and deterrence of fraud. With almost 90,000 members, 60,000 of whom hold CFE certification, it helps reduce the impact of all forms of fraud worldwide.
Some leading companies which are members of ACFE Corporate Alliance include AMAZON, MICROSOFT, EXXON MOBIL, HSBC, PFIZER, PROCTER & GAMBLE, while it is worth noting that ELLAKTOR Group is one of a few Greek companies which are members of the Organisation.
