Import Price Index in Industry records a 25% jump in November

The corresponding index in November 2020 had recorded a decrease of 9.9% compared with November 2019.

The Overall Import Price Index (MPI) in Industry with base year 2015=100.0 in November 2021 recorded an increase of 25.0% compared with November 2020, according to figures unveiled by ELSTAT.

 The corresponding index in November 2020 had recorded a decrease of 9.9% compared with November 2019. 

The Overall Index in November 2021 recorded a decrease of 2.9% compared with October 2021. The corresponding index in November 2020 had recorded an increase of 4.0% compared with October 2020.

The twelve-month average Overall Index from December 2020 to November 2021, increased by 16.8% in comparison with the corresponding index of the period from December 2019 to November 2020, while the decrease recorded between the previous twelve-month periods amounted to 9.1%.

The increase of 25.0% in the Overall Import Price Index in Industry in November 2021 compared with November 2020 is on account of the yearly changes of the sub-indices of the markets as follows:

a. 37.1% increase in the MPI of the Non-Eurozone Market.

b. 6.8% increase in the MPI of the Eurozone Market.
