Real estate expropriations for the completion of 5 major infrastructure projects

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Costas Karamanlis, spoke about the inclusion of real estate expropriations for projects of general importance for the country's economy in Article 7A of the Code of Compulsory Expropriation of Real Estate, which was summoned chaired by the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In particular, the Minister proposed on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, an additional list, which refers to 5 projects, of which 4 are implemented by the ministry and one by the North Aegean Region.

The first concerns the urgent repair and reconstruction works of bridges in Evia and in particular the Vasilikos bridge, the bridge in the settlement of Fylla and the bridge in the settlement of Afrati, areas affected by the floods of August 9, 2020, as the Government had committed from the beginning .

  • The second refers to the construction of the new Keriti bridge with the accompanying road works, in the settlement of Alikianos in the Municipality of Platanias of Chania.
  • The third project refers to the road connection of the new General Hospital of Sparta, the reconstruction of which is a donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
  • The fourth project is related to Corfu Airport and concerns projects for removing incompatibilities with EASA regulations.
  • The fifth project, of the North Aegean Region, concerns the improvement of the sections of the provincial road Papadou-Plomari.
