Sunlight Group announced completion and launch of state-of-the-art €21 million logistics center in Xanthi.

According to the company, this strategic development aims to further optimize Sunlight’s fully integrated supply chain and enhance service to customers across 115 European and international markets. The significance of the investment is underscored by the fact that 99% of Sunlight’s production in Xanthi is exported.

The new facilities, covering a total area of 15,930 m², represent a model of modern industrial infrastructure, combining operational autonomy, digital transformation, and sustainable development. They provide high speed, precision, and resilience to meet the challenges of the international market. The extensive integration of digital processes is designed to accelerate operations, maximize safety, reduce service times by 50%, automate efficiency measurements, and optimize data analysis for transportation management.

In this context, the operational excellence of Sunlight’s Xanthi logistics center relies on advanced automation technologies, robotics, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), delivering immediate benefits to Sunlight’s global supply chain.

Specifically, the new facilities feature more than 21,000 heavy-duty pallet positions, each supporting 1,500 kg per slot, with VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) systems and auto-positioning functionality for maximum space utilization and high-speed, precise forklift operation. Additionally, the center operates 34 “smart” loading and unloading ramps equipped with license plate recognition and load confirmation systems.

The logistics center is fully integrated with SAP EWM (S/4HANA), ensuring real-time visibility of inventory and shipments, with automatic data storage in the ERP for absolute accuracy and top-speed responsiveness. The building also offers maximum earthquake protection and special climate-controlled zones for the safe storage of sensitive products.

Antonis Theologitis, Chief Operating Officer of Sunlight Group, emphasized:

"The state-of-the-art logistics center in Xanthi is not merely a new facility, but a strategic step for our long-term growth and response to global challenges. This investment solidifies Greece’s role as a central operational hub for our international activities, providing greater flexibility across our fully integrated supply chain. With complete digital integration, we deliver unparalleled and resilient service to our customers in 115 countries, reaffirming our commitment to reliable global solutions."
