The renewed Club Med Gretgolimano was recently inaugurated by the Club Med hotel group in the presence of its president Henri Giscard d'Estaing.

According to the relevant announcement, the event was honored with the presence of the representatives of the political leadership and the local government, such as the MPs of Evia Simos Kedikoglou and Simeon Kedikoglou, the Deputy Regional Governor P.E. of Evia Giorgos Kelaiditis and the Mayor of Istiaea-Edipsos Ioannis Kontzias.

Since 1955, when it opened its first resort in Greece, Club Med has shaped a distinguished course of almost seven decades, offering unforgettable experiences to its guests. The Group is constantly improving its infrastructure, providing a complete all-inclusive experience that embodies authenticity and harmony according to the Greek way of life.

The recent renovation of Club Med Gregolimano, the Group's only resort in Greece, opens a new chapter in its history. Located on the second largest island of the country, Evia, the resort with its recent renovation highlights its commitment to provide a top hospitality experience to its guests.

In the context of the event, Henri Giscard d'Estaing, President of Club Med, said: “Club Med and Greece share a history of almost 70 years, since the opening of the Group's first resort in the country, in 1955 in Corfu. Club Med Gregolimano, this iconic resort that started its operation in 1977, is a testament to this long commitment, while we hope for more opportunities for expansion and development in Greece, this beautiful country, which is the heart of European culture.

Sustainable renovation

Club Med Gregolimano is committed to sustainable development through environmentally and socially responsible practices. The resort works with local agencies, such as MOm, to protect endangered species and supports community initiatives. As part of its commitment, the resort aims to achieve BREEAM environmental certification for its new extension, which includes thermal solar panels, tree conservation and drought-tolerant plants. The new accommodation is designed for maximum comfort and features green roofs, promoting the use of local resources. At the same time, it employs approximately 300 local residents and collaborated with local businesses for 90% of the renovation work.
