According to ELSTAT, the corresponding value
excluding oil products in August 2024 recorded a drop of 158.6 million euros or 3.4% and the corresponding value excluding oil
products and ships in August 2024 recorded a drop of 151.9 million euros or 3.3%, in comparison with August 2023.
The total value of exports, in August 2024 amounted to 3,674.9 million euros (4,050.9 million dollars) in comparison with
3,736.7 million euros (4,088.7 million dollars) in August 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 1.7%. The corresponding value
excluding oil products recorded in August 2024 an increase of 213.6 million euros or 9.2% and the corresponding value
excluding oil products and ships in August 2024 recorded an increase of 210.2 million euros or 9.1%, in comparison with
August 2023.
The deficit of the trade balance, in August 2024 amounted to 2,535.7 million euros (2,753.7 million dollars) in comparison with
2,712.8 million euros (2,926.2 million dollars) in August 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 6.5%.The corresponding value of
deficit excluding oil products in August 2024 recorded a drop of 372.2 million euros or 15.8% and the corresponding value
excluding oil products and ships in August 2024 recorded a drop of 362.1 million euros or 15.5%, in comparison with August
2023.
The total value of imports, for the 8-month period from January to August 2024 amounted to 55,723.0 million euros (60,193.4
million dollars) in comparison with 54,649.1 million euros (59,122.2 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year
2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 2.0%.The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded an increase of 1,095.8
million euros or 2.7% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships recorded an increase of 1,075.1 million
euros or 2.7%, in comparison with the period from January to August 2023.
The total value of exports, for the 8-month period from January to August 2024 amounted to 33,718.9 million euros (36,644.2
million dollars) in comparison with 34,219.3 million euros (37,235.2 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year
2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 1.5%. The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded a drop of 297.3 million
euros or 1.2% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships recorded a drop of 281.0 million euros or 1.2%,
in comparison with the period from January to August 2023.
The deficit of the trade balance, for the 8-month period from January to August 2024 amounted to 22,004.1 million euros (23,549.2 million dollars) in comparison with 20,429.8 million euros (21,887.0 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 7.7%. The corresponding deficit excluding oil products recorded an increase of 1,393.1 million euros or 8.4% and the corresponding deficit excluding oil products and ships recorded an increase of 1,356.1 million euros or 8.2%.
