AKTOR in a joint venture with HELECTOR has been selected as the contractor among five bidders, for the project Construction of the Expansion of the Thessaloniki Water Treatment Plant (E.E.N.T.) - Phase A2.

The initial budget of the projects amounts to €26.9 million (including VAT). The Contracting Authority is the Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Thessaloniki SA. and according to the notice, the contract will have a duration of 30 months.

The project

The project refers to the expansion of the existing premises, so that its capacity increases from the current 150,000 cubic meters per day to 300,000 cubic meters per day (completion of phase A2). The total duration of Part I is set at 30 months, i.e. 20 months for construction, 4 months for trial operation and 6 months for efficient operation of the new facility.

For the expansion projects, the treatment processes of the phase A1 facilities are generally maintained, with variations and additions, resulting from the construction of phase A2 and necessary to optimize the performance of the facility and the quality of the produced water (effective treatment odor and taste problems), without overlap with the A1 phase projects.
