In particular, Mr. Farmakis visited important anti-flooding projects such as the one being carried out on the Alfeion River (behind the Ancient Stadium of Olympia) and aimed at the anti-flood protection of the archaeological site and the settlement, as well as major road safety projects such as the roundabout Strefiou, at a point on the national highway Pyrgos - Ancient Olympia where many and serious traffic accidents occur.
Also, the Regional Governor visited Ancient Pisa where the restoration project of the extensive landslide caused after the disastrous fires of August 2021 is in progress, the bridge of Alpheios where anti-flood protection works are also progressing, the interventions in the river Neda aimed at protecting of the Local Community of Giannitsochori, the river Akida and the Rema Kalidonas, where work is underway to clean the bed, remove alluvium and other debris.
It is noted that Mr. Farmakis was accompanied by the Deputy Regional Governor P.E. Ilias, Vassilis Giannopoulos, the Deputy Regional Governor for Culture and Tourism, Nikos Korovesis, the Deputy Regional Governor for Rural Development, Theodoros Vassilopoulos, the Deputy Regional Governor for Sports, Volunteerism and Olympics, Dimitris Nikolakopoulos, officials and representatives of the contracting companies.
