The first four months of 2024 closed with an average occupancy of 68.7%, compared to 63.9% in 2023, for hotels in Athens, according to the Hotel Association of Athens Attica and Argosaronicos.

According to a related announcement, the average occupancy of the hotels in the four months is not recorded as particularly impressive nor as expected for the hotels of the capital. In fact, as reported, the positive change recorded (of the order of 7.6% in the four months compared to 2023) certainly does not represent the expectations of hoteliers from 2024.

However, as the first quarter also includes the traditionally "slow" winter months, a more positive development is expected ahead of the summer.

The same applies to the increase of 7% in the four-month Average Room Rate (ADR) compared to the corresponding period of 2023, which reached 110.77 euros from 103.52 euros, while in the Revenue per Available Room (RevPar) it performed better, reaching 76.12 euros in the first quarter of 2024, compared to 66.13 euros in the first quarter of 2023, and marking an increase of 15.1%.
