The tender process for the construction of the road "Bralos - Amfissa", as part of the diagonal road axis "Lamia - Itea - Antirrio", has been completed.

As announced by the Minister of Finance Christos Staikouras who was present at the signing of the contract at the Ministry of Infrastructure, "this is an important infrastructure project for the entire country, especially for Central Greece, which is now becoming a transportation hub, with the completion of the - national and European range - road and railway axes, together with the completion of the E65 and the unblocking of part of the "Lamia - Karpenisi" road axis".

The specific project, which was joined by the Greek government, as a public project of national importance, with funding from national and European resources, is starting to take shape, in terms of economic efficiency and social reciprocity, Mr. Staikouras added.

He also congratulated the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport K. Ah. Karamanlis "for the significant efforts he makes for the progress of projects in the territory, for the benefit of society, the economy, regional development" adding that "the results vindicate him".

The specific road axis is part of the international road network "E-65" and is the connecting axis between the PATHE and Ionia Motorways, serving routes from Central and Northern Greece to areas of Western and Southern Greece.

Its completion, as noted by Mr. Staikouras, means safer, faster and more comfortable traffic, interconnection of Regions and cities, as well as facilitation of transit trade and transport, stimulation of local markets and development of economies.
