This figure corresponds to 633,510 sqm of surface and 2,971,021 m3 of volume, reflecting, respectively, a 0.6% increase in the number of building permits, a 6.8% decrease in surface and a10.9% decrease in volume, compared with the corresponding month of 2022.
According to ELSTAT, the building permits for the Private Building Activity issued in Greece in December 2023 amounted to 2,498. This figurecorresponds to 611,618 m2 of surface and 2,857,625 m3 of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2022 there isa 0.2% increase in the number of building permits, an 8.9% decrease in surface and a 12.7% decrease in volume.
The building permits for the Public Building Activity issued in Greece in December 2023 amounted to 35. This figurecorresponds to 21,892 m2 of surface and 113,396 m3 of volume. Public Building Activity accounted for a 3.8% of thetotal building volume in December 2023.
In the last twelve months, from January until December 2023, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece,calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 26,962. This figure corresponds to6,238,016 m2 of surface and 29,171,122 m3 of volume.
In comparison with the corresponding period from January untilDecember 2022, there is a 7.1% increase in the number of building permits, a 12.2% increase in surface and a 16.0%increase in volume.
In the same period, from January untill December 2023, Private Building Activity in Greece recorded a 7.2% increase inthe number of issued building permits, an 11.9% increase in surface and a 15.9% increase in volume, compared with thecorresponding period from January to December 2022.
During the same period, Public Building Activityaccounted for a 2.4% of the total building volume.
