The tender for the project is scheduled for December 17, with a target completion horizon of three years from the signing of the relevant contract.
The project includes the connection of the Western Peripheral Avenue of Aigaleo (DPLA) with the Athens-Corinth National Road (EO Athinon-Korinthou) and the construction of three grade-separated interchanges at the following locations:
- Skaramaga – New Bridge, 160 m
- Schisto – New Bridge, 135 m, and reconstruction of existing bridge, 130 m
- Shipyards – New Underpass, 42 × 28 m
- Western Peripheral Avenue of Aigaleo – Underpass (Iera Odos), 24 m; Semi-Interchange, 32 m (Aspropyrgos)
- Athens-Corinth National Road – Extension of Underground Pedestrian Passage, 12 m
The project, with a budget of €70 million, will be funded through resources from the Public Investment Program.
The objective is to alleviate congestion on the road network and enhance accessibility to the Thriasio area, which is experiencing rapid growth in logistics and industrial activities. Upon completion, traffic flow from Athens to Aspropyrgos, the Olympia Odos, Schisto, and the Port of Piraeus will be significantly improved.
