The historic "Xenia Ouranoupolis" has been awarded to DOMES ATTIKIS SINGLE-MEMBER S.A., led by Dr. Yiannis Spanos, under a 30-year lease agreement, marking the beginning of a new era for the iconic hotel through its complete renovation and reopening as a luxury resort of international standards.

The company was declared the provisional contractor in the open electronic tender conducted by the Hellenic Public Properties Company (HPPC), which attracted significant investment interest. A total of seven investment groups participated—six Greek and one international company.

With a starting annual lease price of €240,000, the company submitted the highest bid of €826,875 per year, securing provisional award status.

The Xenia Ouranoupolis, built in 1959 by renowned architect Pericles Sakellarios, is a landmark of modern Greek architecture and a living testament to the pioneering Xenia hotel network, which redefined Greek hospitality in the mid-20th century. Strategically located at the gateway to Mount Athos, adjacent to the town of Ouranoupolis, the property spans 27,817 sq.m., boasting a 330-meter sea frontage, private beach, swimming pool, 82 guest rooms, and 16 bungalows. It stands as a unique destination combining coastal luxury and cultural significance.

Upon completion of the award process, the path is clear for the revitalization and full relaunch of Xenia Ouranoupolis as a modern luxury resort, offering high-end hospitality services and contributing to the tourism and economic development of the broader region of Halkidiki and Northern Greece.

The awarded company manages luxury resorts in premier destinations and is considered one of the fastest-growing hotel chains in Europe, with an expanding presence in Crete, the Ionian Islands, the Cyclades, Halkidiki, Athens, and Portugal.
