He clarified that this issue concerns OSETH, which is responsible for ticket collection.
Asked about the suspension of the Metro service due to the works for the Kalamaria extension, he reiterated that it will last for 30 days, "perhaps even longer," and clarified that although the exact timing is not known, it will likely take place after the summer.
He explained that the disruption will occur in at least two phases and "there is already an agreement with the contractor consortium, which will complete all the ongoing works for the Kalamaria extension project, to ensure timely notification to the Metro operating company, OSETH (Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization), and OASTH (Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization), so that transportation alternatives will be provided for the affected routes."
He added that the disruption is mandatory. "This has happened everywhere where extensions were needed, whether in Copenhagen or Milan... the same process was followed," he concluded.
