Eurobank acquires 55,3% stake in the Hellenic Bank

The Commission for the Protection of Competition in Cyprus approved Eurobank's increased share capital in Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited.

According to an announcement by Eurobank, they have received approval to acquire a total of 26.1% of Hellenic Bank's shares. 

This acquisition was made through agreements with Poppy S.à r.l., Senvest Management LLC, Wargaming Group Limited, and the provident funds, Provident Fund for the Executive Directors of Wargaming and Provident Fund for the Senior Management Personnel of Wargaming. 

The acquisition is now awaiting approval from the Central Bank of Cyprus/European Central Bank and the Insurance Commissioner of Cyprus. Eurobank currently owns 29.2% of Hellenic Bank. After the completion of the acquisition, their total participation will increase to 55.3%.
