The Chania Business Park is now approaching the final stages of completion, following many years of dedicated and concerted efforts by numerous stakeholders and organizations involved in its planning and execution.

According to a recent announcement, REDEPLAN S.A. has played a pivotal role from the very inception of the Chania Business Park project—starting with site selection and initial planning, through detailed technical and financial studies, securing permits, and overseeing construction management for an extended period—successfully bringing the project to fruition. This latest accomplishment adds another landmark development to REDEPLAN’s portfolio: a state-of-the-art 515-acre industrial and business park.

The Chania Business Park represents a comprehensive, master-planned industrial zone featuring an integrated urban design and all essential infrastructure. It is poised to deliver a significant boost to the local economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Chania by providing modern, fully serviced spaces for businesses. Previously, many companies in the region have had to operate under unregulated, out-of-plan conditions, lacking critical access routes and basic infrastructure.

The existing situation has created a complex landscape of geographic and institutional conflicts, detrimental to the natural and peri-urban environment and hindering the balanced development of various economic sectors, which until now have coexisted without clear spatial separation or planning.

Situated in the “Malaxa” area, just 5 kilometers from Chania city center, the Business Park boasts a 12-kilometer internal road network, extensive green spaces, and community facilities. It is fully equipped with essential hydraulic, energy, and telecommunications networks—including fiber optics—and features state-of-the-art fire protection and irrigation systems to support the operations of its tenant businesses.

A pioneering feature of this development is its innovative wastewater reuse infrastructure. After tertiary treatment, recycled wastewater will be utilized for industrial purposes, making the Chania Business Park the first in Greece to adopt such sustainable practices. This initiative strongly aligns with contemporary demands for circular economy principles and eco-friendly industrial design.

With the capacity to accommodate between 100 and 150 small, medium, and large enterprises across the industrial, logistics, and service sectors, the Chania Business Park is set to become a key growth engine for the region, reshaping the economic landscape of Chania and Crete as a whole.
