This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Nikos Tachiaos, during an interview with Radio Thessaloniki, where he emphasized that “the FlyOver project is progressing at a rapid pace and will accelerate even further from September onward,” with his active involvement.
The FlyOver refers to the Elevated Expressway—a bridge approximately four kilometers in length. Its construction involves the installation of a movable steel formwork, which will be used for the concrete pouring process. This formwork will move hydraulically along the length of the bridge, across the piers that are already under construction.
Regarding the Pylaia–Panorama tunnel and bridge, the Deputy Minister noted that a precise timeline has not yet been determined. However, the demolition of the existing tunnel is scheduled to begin in early to mid-autumn. A new tunnel will be constructed in its place, and throughout the construction period, two lanes of traffic on the Thessaloniki Ring Road will remain open. “The bridges in Panorama are planned for construction next year, but in any case, all necessary measures will be taken to ensure that disruption to the public is kept to a minimum,” Mr. Tachiaos concluded.
