"We look forward to continuing our journey in Greece, promoting growth and helping to strengthen the Greek economy," JP Morgan said in a LinkedIn post.

JP Morgan, one of the largest financial services providers worldwide, which has been active in Greece since 1968, announced the company's new offices in Athens and its expansion into new areas of activity.

The new office will host, in conjunction with other corporate functions, the Commercial & Investment Banking and Asset Management activities.

JP Morgan will also use the new space to develop its Payments Innovation Lab, which marks the hiring of around 50 new employees to research and develop payment mechanisms locally.

The Payments Innovation Lab will focus on research and development of the company's global payment systems, including working with Onyx, JP Morgan's business unit leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain. The Lab will focus on supporting the development of ledger technology, artificial intelligence and cryptographic systems related to payment systems.
