The total value of imports, in October 2024 amounted to 7,163.7 million euros (7,788.3 million dollars) in comparison with 7,273.1 million euros (7,659.1 million dollars) in October 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 1.5%. The corresponding value excluding oil products in October 2024 recorded an increase of 648.0 million euros or 12.4% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in October 2024 recorded an increase of 640 million euros or 12.3%, in comparison with October 2023.
The total value of exports, in October 2024 amounted to 4,000.6 million euros (4,375.6 million dollars) in comparison with 4,436.1 million euros (4,699.7 million dollars) in October 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 9.8%. The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded in October 2024 an increase of 154.2 million euros or 5.1% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in October 2024 recorded an increase of 149.4 million euros or 5.0%, in comparison with October 2023.
The deficit of the trade balance, in October 2024 amounted to 3,163.1 million euros (3,412.7 million dollars) in comparison with 2,837.0 million euros (2,959.4 million dollars) in October 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 11.5%.The corresponding value of deficit excluding oil products in October 2024 recorded an increase of 493.8 million euros or 22.1% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships in October 2024 recorded an increase of 490.6 million euros or 22.0%, in comparison with October 2023.
The total value of imports, for the 10-month period from January to October 2024 amounted to 70,187.2 million euros (76,063.2 million dollars) in comparison with 68,964.6 million euros (74,283.1 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 1.8%.The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded an increase of 1,967.4 million euros or 3.9% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships recorded an increase of 1,922.8 million euros or 3.8%, in comparison with the period from January to October 2023.
The total value of exports, for the 10-month period from January to October 2024 amounted to 41,871.1 million euros (45,643.8 million dollars) in comparison with 42,974.0 million euros (46,562.7 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording a drop, in euros, of 2.6%. The corresponding value excluding oil products recorded an increase of 274.0 million euros or 0.9% and the corresponding value excluding oil products and ships recorded an increase of 281.2 million euros or 1.0%, in comparison with the period from January to October 2023.
The deficit of the trade balance, for the 10-month period from January to October 2024 amounted to 28,316.1 million euros (30,419.4 million dollars) in comparison with 25,990.6 million euros (27,720.4 million dollars) for the corresponding period of the year 2023, recording an increase, in euros, of 8.9%. The corresponding deficit excluding oil products recorded an increase of 1,693.4 million euros or 8.0% and the corresponding deficit excluding oil products and ships recorded an increase of 1,641.6 million euros or 7.7%.
The monthly data of Intra-EU transactions, have been adjusted to the total trade transactions with EU countries, including the transactions below the statistical threshold(1) , on the basis of the Recapitulative Statements of Intra-EU Deliveries and Acquisitions that are submitted by the enterprises to the Independent Authority of Public Revenue. Accordingly, the provisional data from the “incomplete customs declarations” have been incorporated in the monthly data on trade with third countries and, after having been completed, they will be replaced by the final data.
