Greek turnover index industry up 13.4% in September

The Industrial Turnover Index recorded a significant increase in September 2025, according to provisional data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

The Overall Turnover Index in Industry (both Domestic and Non-Domestic Market) in September 2025 recorded an increase of 13.4% compared with the corresponding index of September 2024. 

The Overall Turnover Index in Industry in September 2024 decreased by 6.9% compared with the corresponding index in September 2023. The Overall Turnover Index in Industry in September 2025, compared with August 2025, recorded an increase of 24.1%.

The average Overall Turnover Index in Industry for the 12-month period from October 2024 to September 2025 decreased by 0.2%, compared with the corresponding index of the 12-month period from October 2023 to September 2024. 

The average Overall Turnover Index in Industry for the 12-month period from October 2023 to September 2024 increased by 0.9% compared with the corresponding index of the 12-month period from October 2022 to September 2023.

Annual changes of the Overall Turnover Index in Industry September 2025 / September 2024 

The 13.4% increase of the Overall Turnover Index in Industry in September 2025, compared with the corresponding index in September 2024, was due to the following: 

1. Changes in the sub-indices of the industrial sections: 

  • The Turnover Index in Mining and quarrying increased by 30.2%. The increase was mainly the result of the annual changes of the sub-indices in the following 2-digit divisions: mining of coal and lignite - extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas - mining support service activities, other mining and quarrying products. 
  • The Turnover Index in Manufacturing increased by 13.2%. The increase was mainly the result of the annual changes of the sub-indices in the following 2-digit divisions: other transport equipment, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, repair and installation of machinery and equipment, computers, electronic and optical products. 
2. Changes in the sub-indices in Domestic and Non-Domestic Markets: 

  • The Turnover Index in Industry in Domestic Market increased by 13.7%
  •  The Turnover Index in Industry in Non-Domestic Market increased by 13.0%
