Greek unemployment at 8.6% in February 2025

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced the seasonally adjusted estimates of employment and unemployment for February 2025.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February 2025 amounted to 8.6% compared to 11.5% in February 2024 and to the upwards revised 9.1% in January 2025.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,311,625 persons, increased by 72,436 persons as compared with February 2024 (1.7%) and increased by 36,927 persons compared with January 2025 (0.9%).

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 404,581, decreased by 144,210 persons as compared with February 2024 (-26.3%) and by 22,906 persons compared with January 2025 (-5.4%). 

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,044,149, increased by 43,660 persons as compared with February 2024 (1.5%) and decreased by 16,415 persons compared with January 2025 (-0.5%).
