Greek unemployment rate reaches 11,8% in September 2022

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,149,663 persons increasing by 83,545 persons.

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced the seasonally adjusted estimates of employment and unemployment for September 2022.

According to ELSTAT the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in September 2022 amounted to 11.8% compared to the upwards revised 13.3% in September 2021 and to the downwards revised 12.1% in August 2022.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,149,663 persons increasing by 83,545 persons as compared with September 2021 (+2.1%) and by 43,487 persons compared with August 2022 (+1.1%).

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 556,324 decreasing by 65,121 persons as compared with September 2021 (-10.5%) and by 8,449 persons compared with August 2022 (-1.5%).

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,117,564, decreasing by 51,891 persons as compared with September 2021 (-1.6%) and by 37,647 persons compared with August 2022 (-1.2%).
